Will - The faculty by which a person decides on and initiates action. Control, deliberately exerted to do something by one’s own impulses. A deliberate or fixed desire or intention; the thing that one desires or ordains; to make or try to make someone do something or something to happen. It is the ability to make decisions or restrain yourself from doing something or something that a person desires or wants. To have a mind of its own, to control behavior. Intend, Desire, And Wish.
Will of God -“To move, breathe, and function in ALL things that pertain to me!” says the Lord.
“I call to God, the Most High who supplies every need.” Psalms 57:2
I believe the other most famous saying I have ever heard other than “God knows my heart” would definitely have to be “if it’s the Lord’s will.”
However, many times that is said after we have decided to do something without consulting God. Just as often, the thing we're doing is not really what we should be doing. We may be aware of this because of God's Spirit, Who leads us in His will, but we say, “if it’s the Lord’s will” with the hope that maybe God will allow it.
“I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” Hebrews 8:10
“I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.” Psalms 40:8
“My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commandments in your heart, for they will prolong your life for many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let Love and Faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.” Proverbs 3:1-3
Our spirit should be in tune with what our Creator wants and does not want for us. This is why when we step outside of His Will and do things without Him, we get thrown off course and tend to get frustrated in our doings because we are now operating in disobedience.
God does not need our help. He is the Creator and we are His creation. He is the Founder of us all and everything comes from Him. I used to spend a lot of time trying to help situations that were never mine to help – so much time wasted. How in the world could I assist the One Who causes everything to be?
It’s funny how we try to help God in how He orchestrates our lives. We have gotten so accustomed to doing, without asking, that we just make a complete mess of things. We usually slow down everything God is doing because we are in the way.
Ultimate surrender has to come into play, at this point, because if not, we could end up missing out on the bountiful harvest that has been planned out for us.
All we have to do is go before the Father and ask Him to show us how to be in this new place of surrender. We should always keep our hearts open to receive from Him. The Father never stops speaking. We just need to humble ourselves to Him and get out of the way. We can do this when we spend time with Him and go before Him in prayer.
The Father doesn't sign on to our way of doing things. He created us for His Purpose and His Will. He is the Most High God! There is no other!
