STOP DIGGING!

Have you ever heard the saying about being careful about the hole you are digging for someone else because it’s the hole you are digging for yourself?

This is all too true in the case of Haman in the book of Esther, in the Bible. The trap he set for Mordecai is the one he ended up falling in himself – the gallows.

“So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s anger subsided.” Esther 7:10 (AMP)

I saw the vision of someone digging into the ground until the hole got deeper and the person could no longer be seen because they had dug themselves into it. Every time the dirt was being shoveled out of the hole, it represented pride. It represented every time we are faced with something of truth or taking ownership of something, and we did not want to admit it, we just shoveled it out.

Wow! It's pride that takes us deeper into a hole that can be hard for us to escape, if we don’t surrender our stubbornness and disbelief to what God is showing us in dreams, visions, through someone, etc. (Let’s remember that God can speak through anyone or anything He chooses.)

There is entirely too much going on in the world now for us to be blinded by our pride. This pride leads to our demise if we don’t repent and surrender to God for the help that only comes from Him! Our eyes need to be opened in order for us to see the bulldozer of opposition coming right at us, as we are a nation of the Kingdom of God!

The scripture that we have made an anthem out of – pride comes before the fall – somehow has a whole new meaning to it.

“Your boast becomes a prophecy of a future failure. The higher you lift yourself up in pride, the harder you’ll fall in disgrace.” Proverbs 16:18 (TPT)

It would be sad to say or realize that because of our pride we fell into the hole that we dug for ourselves. So… stop digging!
