Still – not moving or making a sound. deep silence and calm; stillness
Move – go in a specified direction or manner; change position, change of place. make progress; develop in a particular manner or direction
How is it possible to be still and move at the same time? It's obvious that these two words are polar opposite of each other.
Polar opposite – the complete exact opposite of each other
The real question is, are they really that opposite of each other? Maybe in textbook theory; but, pertaining to God, they are one in the same.
How? Because according to Scripture, Psalm 46:10 reads:
He says, “Be still, and know that I AM God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
The Father is telling us to not move or make a sound, remain calm. In the book of Exodus 14:14, He is telling us to hold our peace as He fights for us. Again, be still. Let me handle this, as I move on your behalf! Amen?
In the book of Isaiah 41:10 it reads:
So do not fear, for I AM with you; do not be dismayed, for I AM your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. –Jeremiah 29:11
God is always moving! Will we be still?
Can we rest in Him knowing He is always moving? Can we rest in the stillness of His peace – carrying us over and through what we surrender to Him, as He moves on our behalf? Hallelujah! Praise God!
Peace be still! The peace that surpasses all understanding, according to Philippians 4:7, will silence you. It will cause you to hush. It will keep you calm and you won't make a sound while Almighty God carries you through, as He moves!
If we surrender our lives to Him, the joy is that every time He moves, we move! So... are you ready to be still and move?!
I love you! In Jesus' name.
