As a shielded son or daughter, and vessel of God, there is an assurance we have as His children that no matter what is happening in the world, we are covered, sealed, safe, protected... shielded.

Shield

  1. A broad piece of metal or another suitable material, held by straps or a handle attached on one side, used as a protection against blows or missiles.

  2. A person or thing providing protection.

Upon reading these two meanings for the word “shield,” I immediately was reminded of the armor of God – and us putting on the whole thing, in order to protect us from the blows and missiles the enemy sends at us.

I then realized that not only did God provide for us the suitable covering as we journey with Him, but that He would be with us at all times while being the actual shelter and shield that we will need as we move forward with Him.

Remember how He was that fire by night and that cloud by day? He never left them and He will never leave us! Amen?

Do not be in fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. –Joshua 1:9

It is such an absolute joy and blessing to know how much the Father wants us to know that He is with us at all times. It's all through His Word. As the Father has given us countless Scriptures to rely upon and believe for our life, it is imperative for us to know that every word has His Power in it! All we have to do is speak it, release it, and see the manifestation of His Glory break through for His sons and daughters! PRAISE GOD!

Now, back to the word “shield.” We all need to know that when we are suited up in the armor of God, our protection is automatically provided by the One and Only Living God no matter what we go through or what is happening in the world. We are shielded because we have chosen to abide under Almighty God. We have chosen to follow Him. I believe that one of the most powerful chapters in the Bible is Psalm 91. It is the most direct way that God has let us know that we are shielded, as we remain and abide with Him.

I want to encourage you to say this verse as a part of your daily activities. As you say it, believe it and know that God is speaking to you and your family directly, with no room for any misunderstanding.

God means what He says! Let's say it together.....

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shied and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

With long life will I satisfy him and shew him my salvation.”

–Psalm 91

I love you all and I pray this penetrates your heart, and that you will speak it boldly and believe it.

In Jesus' Name
