Undoubtedly, we all have heard about needing a little R&R. Whether we have heard it from a friend, coworker, or even our doctor, we all could use it from time to time…Rest and Relaxation! Sounds good right? Just to be able to have a small break from the day-to-day hustle that we all take on, in order to provide for our families, sounds so good. To get even a small amount of time to relax is one thing, but to get anything more would be monumental, to say the least. The reason being is that we are so focused and driven on what needs to be done to provide, we often never think of taking care of ourselves in the process.

Although getting a little R&R would be such a huge step for us in taking care of ourselves, there is something that I was shown that would make R&R look like nothing in comparison, and that is the relationship we have with God. The relationship that surpasses all things we have ever known; the relationship that cancels out religion and gives way to our relationship with the Father.

No more religion. No more being worn out trying to keep up and make appearances look perfect. No more smiling on the outside and crying on the inside. No more pretending to care when you really don’t. No more fake conversations and then slander behind one’s back. No more thinking because you chose salvation that your sins you won’t lay down will somehow carry you to the face of the King. For the Word of God says:

“Instead shape your lives to become like the Holy One who called you. For Scripture says: “You are to be Holy for I Am Holy.” Since you call on Him as your Heavenly Father, the impartial judge who judges according to each one’s works, live each day with the Holy Awe and Reverence throughout your time on the earth.” -1 Peter 1:15-17 TPT

Relationship: The union between God and His creation that is bonded through the Love from the Heart of God that can never be broken if we, His children, choose to come and stay. To be restored, renewed, regenerated, refreshed, reborn, revealed, resurfaced, reawakened, reconciled, and to be at REST!

I love this new meaning of R&R… No more Religion only Relationship!

We thank you now Father as Your surrendered ones. We will stop at nothing in pursuit of having a relationship with You. We are letting go and kicking out the spirit of religion in Jesus Name and we are honored because of our choice to have a relationship with You that we get to expect even more of Your joy, peace, love, and a sound mind at an even greater capacity because our relationship with You is what’s most important to us. It is at the top of our list, our priority, our privilege, and honor to chase after You and to forever live as a surrendered one in relationship (covenant) with You!

In Jesus Name

Amen!

“Religion always relies on itself or someone else”
