Webster’s Dictionary describes “atmosphere” as: “The envelope of gases surrounding the earth or other planets, a celestial body.” It is the air, space, sky, the sphere, the firmament, the upper regions, the blue, the wide blue yonder. It is also classified as ambience, aura, climate, character, undertone, undercurrent, environment, element, impression, suggestion, background, backdrop, setting, surrounding, and the vault of heaven.

God’s atmosphere is blended harmonious formations of everything created by God’s hands constantly emerging together for life in which we are able to live. A tent of space that was given to us to occupy and fill; in order to function, breathe, and live. God is atmosphere and we are able to have an abundant life because we reside in the atmosphere of God. We get the opportunity of choice to have complete access to God’s Spirit, Nature, and Character.

God’s atmosphere was meant for us to bond with and consume, in order to receive the fullness of life and God’s Power; and, to obtain His strength through our daily lives, believing and knowing that we belong to Him. There should always be a constant exchange of conversation through our heart and mind going back and forth from us to God. It sets the table for our hearts to be purified by the Refiner’s fire, thus creating the perfect flow in the atmosphere of God. In other words, we give God our life, we get eternal life, we give God worship, we get His Peace, we give God our heart, and we get His Atmosphere? Yes, Atmosphere! This may sound strange, but stay with me.

We have the opportunity to carry the atmosphere of God in the atmosphere of God! Meaning, OUR HEART IS AN ATMOSPHERE all by itself! The heart has been created so incredibly powerful that it literally embodies its own atmosphere. The foundation of EVERYTHING in us is rooted and grounded in our heart. Our heart was created in us to love, adore, worship and bond with our Creator and all that He created, but we fell from that a long time ago. The heart condition is crucially vital in our relationship with God.

Without heart, absolutely nothing would exist. It is because of the Heart of God that we are here right now. It is also the hearts within us all that has caused the chaos, division, lack of love, and the state of this world today as we know it. In Jeremiah 17:9, it says:

“The heart of a man is deceitful above ALL things and desperately wicked: Who can know it?”

There is only ONE that knows it…..GOD! Jeremiah 17:10 (BBE) says:

“I the Lord am the searcher of the heart, the tester of the thoughts, so that I may give to every man the reward of his ways, in keeping with the fruit of his doings...”

This means only God can search our hearts. Once we acknowledge and accept that this is true then true healing can begin.

I know we may think we know what is in our heart, but we don’t. The very fact that the Bible states that it is “deceitful and desperately wicked” should be a clear indication that there are many hidden places in our hearts and we have not even touched the surface to what is really deep down inside of it. Do you know how many times I would think I knew my heart or would often say “God knows my heart”? (Oh my goodness! That could be a national anthem for how many times I have heard that!)

The truth is yes, He most definitely knows it and how unclean it is; but, unconditional love will always love us anyway. For example, we could see a situation or a person in need and do nothing to help. The thing we will then say is, “God knows my heart” as if the way we do things and the way we think concerning someone or a circumstance is okay; but, we are not fully invested in them, because after all, we do have our own lives to live, right? We tend to dismiss them without knowing that God may want more from us. We generally look within ourselves and, although our intentions are good, we just say “God knows my heart.”

Please don’t be discouraged by this. The beauty of this is that if we choose to surrender to being purified in our hearts by God, we then have the attention of our Father – because we have chosen to relinquish and let go to this new process of God creating His “Heartmosphere” within us. Only God can purify us as we submit and allow Him to. This is when the true exchange begins! Face to face and heart to heart is what begins with us and our Father who is so deeply in love with us!

Can you imagine the astonishingly powerful atmosphere of God colliding with the incredibly powerful atmosphere of our hearts, our “Heartmosphere”? A heart that has chosen to submit daily to saying, “Teach me Lord, forgive me Lord, renew me Lord, show me how to be in this new thing Lord, I give you my heart Lord.” Just imagine the impact that would have on the world! It would cancel out evil and wickedness of hearts because when we choose to unite with the Father in this way everything changes in the earth, even evil has to come under submission.

“…that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, [in submission] of those in Heaven and those in the earth, and those under the earth, and every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God the Father.” -Philippians 2:10-11

As in response to His sons and daughters choosing, the fragrance of the King is then released in the atmosphere and things change! Hearts, minds, and souls are set free, delivered, and healed! How beautiful it will be when the fragrance of our “Heartmosphere” is released through us – no matter where we go or who we encounter – and things change for the Glory of God, because we are surrendering to the atmosphere of who God is! We are one!
