Hello Family!

It is my prayer that you all had a blessed and wonderful day with your families, during this time of Thanksgiving. If you are anything like me, you are probably full of the many delicious meals that were prepared by you or your loved ones to share in and be thankful for. I know I most certainly am.

You know, the beautiful thing about our Father is that He has a way of speaking to us in the most profound ways, and the simplest ways as well. One of the most things I am most grateful for is how God, in all of who He is, can speak to us in simplicity; and yet have such a powerful impact on what He wants to convey to us. What I find so amusing about this release of encouragement is that we have all just celebrated Thanksgiving surrounded with all types of food and the Father gives me an analogy about burgers! Yes, burgers, as in hamburgers! So here it goes…

You ever wish you had a good burger? I know this may not apply to all, but for those of us who don’t mind a good burger every now and then, you know what I’m talking about – the burger that is cooked to our liking, our taste. The one main thing that has to be done right in order for us to enjoy this burger is that it must be cooked evenly on both sides. It must be done this way for even distribution to be carried out so it is not left on one side to long. If left to long it will not taste or cook properly and inevitably will burn.

Why mess up a good burger, right? We have to “FLIP IT”!

The Father was showing me that is what we must due on this journey of surrender that we are on. The burger represents our response. When we encounter adversity, we need to always remember to FLIP THAT BURGER! Meaning, no matter what or who we face that is set against us, we have to ‘Flip It’. We have to flip our actions or response so that it is pleasing to God instead of our own flesh, or we inevitably lose the victory in Jesus' Name and ultimately get hit with a crash and burn moment – much like that burger.

So you may be wondering, “What exactly is it that we are flipping?”

I know you have probably heard this cliché that when life gives you lemons make lemonade!

This would be considered the same thing just a different way. This may sound a little silly, but the burger flip could, by far, be the most important thing you can do as you surrender. It can be one of the most difficult things to do, yet the most rewarding. How? Because at the very moment you want to do, say, or act on something or towards someone who might be after you, and you decide to FLIP THAT BURGER and give the other side of you time to cook evenly without burning, you ultimately will have the best-tasting burger ever made!

You have to remember as a surrendered one, you must always look for every opportunity to run after what would be pleasing in the sight of our Creator. Please know that if anyone knows what that’s like to miss that from time to time, it is me! I often have reflected on why this journey started with Surrendered Bride and, when doing so, I am always taken back to my heart’s cry of “Yes” for the Father! “Yes” to everything about who He is to me and how much more of Him I want to encounter, in order to be everything that He has called me to be.

I have realized that this world is no longer my reality, so why would I allow anything in this world to pull me out of who God has called me to be as His Beloved daughter! So when temptation, offense, pride, slander, jealousy, hate and everything else that Satan offers up on a platter every day of our lives, I have decided to FLIP THAT BURGER!

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. -Proverbs 15:1 NIV

So come and partake of the best-tasting burger of all time that is constantly being flipped! You must know that this surrendering process right here is the one that I believe makes our Dad smile. Oh, how I would love to be one of His to be able to do that! Come join me, let’s sit together at the table with our Father and eat our delicious heart made burgers!
