Go to your sink, turn on the faucet, get a glass and fill it up with water. Now pour it out. Pay attention to the water as it's being poured out. As the water is being poured out, it has no use anymore and you end up with an empty glass again. Water has many uses, especially for cleansing. So, if there is anything that needs cleansing or a flushing out, then water would be a good source for that.
Let's look at this when it comes to our lives and all the things that we need to repent for and surrender to God. The Father cleanses us with His water, and we become His poured-out vessels that He can use however He chooses. We become His emptied houses that He can fill with His presence to glorify Him in a dying world.
More importantly, the Father would become our Source of refreshing when we need it. During the never-ending process of pouring out ourselves to Him, we receive access to His living waters to quench and restore us back to Himself over and over again. Much like the water and the glass, we're filled up and poured out.
Although this is an extremely beautiful undertaking, it can be difficult because of our opponent. But, we can do ALL THINGS through Christ Jesus who gives His strength to us! Amen.
If you look back at the definition of the word “fill,” one of the words in it is “charge.”
The Holy Spirit is reminding us of Psalm 91:11:
“For He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.”
His hand is on us to see us through the process of being poured out for Him! All we have to do is let go and take hold of the water – His Presence – as He fills us up, quenches us, and satisfies our thirst!
“Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.” –John 4:14
FILL ME UP GOD SO YOU ARE GLORIFIED, IN JESUS NAME
