Hate: to feel intense or passionate dislike for someone; loathe, detest, abhor, abominate, despise
Love: an intense feeling of deep affection; fondness, tenderness, warmth, intimacy
I find it amazing how both of these words are so opposite in meaning, but both are connected to God.
The Word of God clearly says that we are to hate what God hates and to love what God loves. God is so powerful and sovereign in that God is love, but God hates all things that don’t pertain to His righteousness. I am in love with the fact that because I am His child I am blessed by His mercy to be under the shadow of His Love, where I can receive all He wants me to have. Yet, on the other hand, I don’t ever want to find myself on the opposite end – living a life that God hates.
Think about how hate unites to bring chaos, calamity, and ruin. The definition even uses the word passionate. Think of all the energy used to be passionate about something that is going to bring you to destruction in the end. If hate can unite and release destruction, how much greater would the love of God wreak havoc and utterly destroy hate if love united together?
There is no greater love than for a man to lay his life down for his friends. That puts passion on a completely different level. What kind of love is that? This love is called unconditional love – the love that comes from God through His son Jesus Christ. This type of love is without question. It simply loves because it has been instructed to do so.
Love gave its life to save us all. What are we willing to give up? It’s time to get on with it, surrender ourselves to it, and take over hate. We together can utterly destroy hate with the love of God!
Let’s ask the Father today to show us what His love looks like. Let’s surrender to wanting it embedded in our hearts, and let’s blow up Satan’s camp to pieces!
Let’s show up with it, wherever we go, and witness hate flee every time! We don’t even have to say anything, just show up with it in our hearts and watch what happens!
The Word of God says that no weapon that is formed against us will prosper. (Isaiah 54:17)
How can it prosper if we are armored with God’s love stitched in our hearts as our ammunition? I’m telling you that love is and always will be our greatest weapon! It also covers a multitude of sins! (1 Peter 4:8 & Proverbs 10:12)
After all, it was God’s greatest weapon used through His Son on the cross; it would only seem fitting that it should be ours as well, right?
I love you all and am praying that you keep surrendering to our Savior!
Love, Hugs, and Blessings!
